Welcome to the Governor’s Coalition for Youth with Disabilities website! GCYD is an all volunteer coalition whose mission is to provide scholarships to qualified high school students with disabilities seeking to continue their training or education. 

Through the generosity of several state agencies, state and private colleges, businesses and individual donors, GCYD has been able to award more than 200 scholarships to deserving high school students with disabilities over the past 16 years. The vast majority of the scholarship award winners have graduated from college and are pursuing their career goals.

In 2011, GCYD awarded 18 scholarships for a total of $30,950.00. For 2012, the GCYD Board has set a goal of raising $50,000 in contributions for scholarships.
